WP Caddy does a ton of different things. They provide how-to guides on getting started with WordPress, improving WordPress performance, and fixing common issues with WordPress. They also test and review hosting options at every price level. In fact, we used their performance data when setting up our Victiv Hosting plans.
At the heart of what they do, and what this site is, is a library of free WordPress themes, plugins, and resources. When they approached us they were not only looking for a redesign, but a way to handle a high volume of user accounts and digital downloads, built on WordPress, but without compromising site performance.
The build out here was not overly complicated. WP Caddy already had almost 1,000 pages and posts, all we had to do was redesign the site, build in the shop, user functionality, boost the site's security, then convert their existing free resources into downloadable products.
The trick, and the real reason WP Caddy decided to hire us to manage this product, is to do all of that while actually improving their site's performance. Even prior to adding on the store, the WP Caddy website was a hog, taking over 4 seconds to load and scoring in the low teen's on both Google Pagespeed Insights and GT Metrix. Here is where they are today:

The other tricky part of this buildout was ensuring that every resource on their site, not only functioned on mobile, but looked great doing so. Performance was particularly important here, because after taking a dive into WP Caddy's user engagement stats on Google Analytics, as well as their Lighthouse performance scores for mobile, this was a massive deficiency in their old website.
After the build we set out to improve their site's rankings. This meant a lot of copywriting for stale content that was stuck on page two, focusing on methods to improve user engagement stats like bounce-rate and average time on page. We also did a fair amount of white-hat link building which had never been addressed, and, of course, shored up the foundational on-page SEO across the site. If you build it, they will come.
